O2 Marketing Day ideas

The afternoon will involve fun, collaboration and a great chance to meet everyone face-to-face


Kick-off ice-beaker to begin the day. Before everyone even sits down its over to Maria for an interactive warm up:

THINGS WE HAVE IN COMMON GAME
​ENERGISER 1

​

​"HELLO EVERYONE! I'd like to welcome all of the new members here today and have us all get to know each other by playing the 'things we have in common' game."

  • Stand up if you're into music? Play in a band, sing? Go over to x space and meet each other!
  • Stand up if you like playing sports or gym? Go over to x space and meet each other!
  • Stand up if you're into arts and crafts? Go over to x space and meet each other!
  • Stand up if you're into cooking and baking? Go over to x space and meet each other!
  • And so on asking questions of things in common to create large or small groups and allow them to chat and share what they do so that then they can meet in the breaks and know who they are. Ask the group for more ideas of things that they're into, maybe some unusual hobbies...
  • Inviting everyone back to their chairs and before we sit down, we do a simple shoulder roll and stretches too feel alive and awake to prepare for thee first session. 

​ENERGISER 2 AFTER THE BREAK
  • We will make a circle and I will lead the left-right brain integration game to connect up both hemispheres of the brain and sides of the body.
  • This supports brain activity and thinking to be more in communication with each other so that your creative side and your logical side are both active and intelligent.
  • This is followed by an exercise called the cross crawl which turns into a fun, engaging and energising series of movements around the circle always causing much laughter.

20 MIN MORE FOR YOU SESSION

More detailed chunk for ‘focusing on delivery’. This follows a very top level, meaty and target heavy presentation by SLT. I want a more workshop style focus on how people can focus for planning and understand goals and how to reach them.
In this session we want to give back to you to say thank you for all of your good work and also thank you in advance. We want to start by having you feel as good and well as possible, to show our appreciation and value for you. 

  • Everyone stands up and we have a nice big stretch for a few mins. 
  • So, starting with you, I invite you all to think of at least 3 things they've done well today. It can be a really simple thing - doesn't have to be a massive thing. But think of a few things. I can say that we all managed to get here today to the right venue on the right day! That's a good thing we all did well today! 
  • Now say to yourself in your mind, 'thank you for doing that well today' and acknowledge yourself.
  • I'll tell you a story about why this is important and why I'm offering this today. Yesterday when I was at work I was given negative feedback by my manager - not even in a feedback positive-challenge-positive sandwich! I was told about 10 things that I'd done wrong and that was it. This made me feel totally stupid and rendered me useless for the rest of my day, I wasn't even able to think straight or do my everyday tasks as I was just too upset. 
  • So now I want everybody to get into our circle again and we'll do some exercises: 
    • Breathing raising arms up and down together while I coach technique and how to value ourselves and each other.
    • Exercises on simple stress-management techniques that work like a get-out-of-jail-free card right when you need it.
    • Group shoulder massage with positive feedback - this always goes down so well and people just love it. See banner picture at the top of this page of one I did earlier.
