Embodied Interconnected synergy using the TetraMap® model of behaviour
INTENTION: To create an engaging, whole-body, multi-senses experience of the 4 Elements of TetraMap and the inter-dependent relationship that celebrates diversity to be successful
|
This program has been designed to play with enhancing the TetraMap process into using all the of senses, all of the space, all of the people all into one experience.
This is a Team Building event - an embodied experience, not just an intellectual understanding. A sensual experience supports participants to to anchor their learning better. This process is creating from the group with flexible facilitation. |
1. Introductions - who's in the room?
We invite participants to introduce themselves in creative, imaginative and personal ways by drawing a picture that most represents them and ask them to share in pairs and introduce their partner. We invite, 'if you were a game or toy what would you be and why?' We begin our story with all the four Elements chilling out under a tree and introducing themselves... |
2. Getting into the world of each Element
We present TetraMap, connecting to nature and the use of tetrahedron, sharing the theory and then have everyone stand up and visit each Element. By sectioning off the room into quarters using masking tape, each quarter represents an Element. Invite and demo to participants how to play in each Element leading with the sensation and movement styles. We co-create with group: So now you’re on Earth - what is it like here? What’s the food you eat? What colours or textures do you see? What would be your body postures, dance, music be? |
3. Playing in each Element
Playfully act or exaggerate the movement, walk and behaviour in each respective Element area. Play and co-create with the group as well as inviting some of the sensory signatures below:

4. Element transition
Now that we have sensed and familiarised ourselves with each Element in turn we can now play with what happens when one transitions into the next. In this game of 'pass the baton' like a sprinter gets into the slip-stream of his partner there is something interesting that happens in this transition phase. Here is where you can discover many unknowns... |
5. Element communication blend
Just like each Element needs the others for success, here we blend the Element groups to create a sensory, embodied experience of the tetrahedron. When our energies blend we get much more than the sum of the parts. Here is where we experience synergy. To play we blend each Element with all other 3 so each gets to experience all of the dynamics. This helps teams to have more flexibility to step into another Element even if it’s not their prime Element and to appreciate each other more. |
6. Face painting
Participants paint their Element onto another participants face, leaving space for the other three. When painting the symbol, the painter explains to the other what their symbol means to them and what specialty they are passing on to them. |
Lunch time - integration time
We have had many a colourful experience all morning and with a good relaxing lunch break followed by a fresh air walk to integrate we return for an afternoon of real-life scenario play. During lunch we invite participants to continue to play with the Elements by sampling their food and drink through more senses than usual and to share with their fellow diners what they are sensing. |
7. Real life scenarios - making it relevant
Now we can take what we have learnt and apply it over real life scenarios that happen in everyday working life:
By creating something together, a story or a play that brings the synergy of each Element, participants are able to bring their real life scenarios to the training and get more out of it. |
The End...
Next Steps...
We’re doing more team building, we are really getting people aware of their own energy and impact is has on others and understanding others better. And the impact of the inter-dependency of each Element, how energy shifts as you move and how you can create MORE.

We are Roxane Loiseaux (certified TetraMap facilitator) and Maria Anderson-Contreras and we’re working with TetraMap and we feel this would really enhance the training experience.
